In art, we will be looking at the work of artist Peter Thorpe whose life-long love of space exploration has inspired much of his work. We will be learning about what is meant by ‘abstract’ art and creating our own space themed pictures using an abstract background and a space feature in the foreground. We began our learning sequence by experimenting with the use of different media: oil pastels, chalk, charcoal and paint. We also learnt how to create, cut and use our own simple templates.
