In art, we have been producing our own masterpieces inspired by the work of Wassily Kandinsky. First, we learnt about his life and how his work developed and changed over time. We practised our skills using: think and thin lines; geometric and organic shapes and contrasting colours. Using crayons and watercolour paints we learnt how we could add pattern using wax resist. Our final challenge before producing our final composition was to learn to use a pair of compasses; many of Kandinsky’s abstract work features circles. The display in our classroom shows some of the pieces we produced whilst developing our skills.
Just like Kandinsky, we thought of titles for our final pieces.
