Our learning in English will support our scientific learning as we will read ‘Stone Girl Bone Girl’ and ‘The Fossil Girl’ -both of which tell the story of palaeontologist Mary Anning. Several aspects of grammar will be included as we refine our understanding of different sentence constructions, the use of speech in narrative writing, how to use semi-colons between independent clauses and the use of passive verbs. We will learn to plan and write a cohesive biography; use figurative and sensory language to improve description and write a first person narrative in role as Mary Anning.
