Today, Danes Class enjoyed participating in the 2026 GoConstruct K’nex challenge. This is an engineering challenge involving around 180 schools across Hertfordshire and surrounding areas. Led by a local STEM ambassador, the challenge involved using K’nex to construct a rocket including a satellite, a capsule and boosters. The rocket had to be at least 20cm tall. We worked in pairs and had an hour to complete the challenge before presenting our model to the class and were scored for different aspects of our work including teamwork, problem solving and design.
We had a fantastic morning and learnt so much! Flynn and Darcie were delighted that their rocket blasted to first place as our class winner! A photo of their model will be judged against the winning designs from other schools.
