We are enjoying our maths learning based upon the book ‘The Number Devil – A Mathematical Adventure’. In this book, we meet twelve-year-old Robert and the Number Devil who brings the subject magically to life and demonstrates how numbers can fascinate and amaze. So far we have: explored how unit fractions get infinitely smaller as the denominator increases in size – but they never actually reach zero; investigated the multiplication pattern 1 x 1, 11 x 11, 111 x 111 … ; developed our understanding of indices; investigated prime numbers and explored square roots.
