For our PE learning last half-term, we learnt and performed a dance inspired by the Blitz during World War Two. The dance begins with families waving off their young children at the train station who are being evacuated to the countryside for safety. It then shows how life continued back in London with adults going to work, doing household chores and discussing their thoughts about the ongoing war. They take refuge in the underground stations before an air raid siren sounds, inciting panic. As German planes approach the city, buildings stand proudly until the Blitz attacks begin. The dance ends with the all clear siren sounding as people emerge from the underground stations to see the destruction left in their beloved city.
