A few weeks ago, we enjoyed our trip to Rye Mead’s Nature Reserve with Peartree. We had great fun pond
dipping and hunting for mini beasts. We learnt about backswimmers, ram horned pond snails and many
other fascinating creatures. A highlight was using the “figure of eight” technique with the nets to catch our
creatures. Kneeling at the edge of the pond meant we could do this safely. After lunch, we learnt all about
the different bird noises and how they communicate. After a long walk over to the bird hide, we enjoyed
taking in the view
