We had a great day based on our learning about significant nurses in history.
We had a visit from Florence Nightingale and we learned so much. We were able to apply for jobs in Scutari hospital and as soldiers in Crimea. We had to fill out application forms and then had an interview with Florence, herself.
We made medals, painted get well soon cards and decorated pill boxes for the wounded soldiers. We also made candle holders and sashes.
There was a lot of lost luggage at the train station and we had to sort through the artifacts enclosed and try to match the suitcase to the correct owner.
After lunch we took a trip on Florence’s boat ‘Vectis’ to the Crimea where we could begin our jobs. These included: soldiers, nurses, cooks, laundry staff, cleaners and gardeners.
