We became ‘sense detectives’ today and had to solve a mystery using our senses. We had to identify a minty smell, hear a squeak, feel something soft and furry, measure a footprint using our sight and identify which food was apple in a blindfold test. It was great fun.
We will be learning about the different animal groups and behaviours. We will identify animals by their unique body parts. We will also become ‘sense detective’ in order to solve a mystery.
We started our topic by sorting randomly chosen animals into two groups. There were some interesting groups based on size, colour, flippers, horns and whether they were land or water animals.
