Following winning the local football tournament in December at Stevenage FC, our Year 5 and 6 team were invited to participate in a national football tournament representing Stevenage FC. Teams had travelled from all over the south of England, including as far south as Exeter.
Stevenage FC kindly provided the team with kits and a minibus for the competition. The team, along with their coach, Rene (Theo’s dad) and Toby from Stevenage FC, travelled to High Wycombe on the 18th March. They played five matches. Each match was very competitive. Good sportsmanship was displayed throughout the day.
Sadly on this occasion, the team were unable to progress to the finals stage at Wembley stadium. We are extremely proud of our whole team and this was a great experience for them all. Thank you to Rene for coaching and Toby for supporting Rene. Also, thanks to our parents for travelling to cheer on our team and Stevenage FC for providing this opportunity for our small school.
