What a fantastic day we had on World Book Day! It was wonderful to see everyone dressed up as favourite book characters. Classes across the school focussed on the book ‘Coming to England’ by Floella Benjamin; this is an inspiring story celebrating the Windrush generation. We learnt a lot about Trinidadian life in the Caribbean and the book prompted much discussion, generated some impressive written outcomes, art work and even provided an opportunity to sample a range of Caribbean produce. The children also enjoyed a World Book Day themed lunch.
