Design and Technology: Cushions

In Design and Technology, Puddlebridge have enjoyed developing our textiles skills. Our challenge was to design and make an attractive yet durable cushion. We began with primary and secondary research, which involved handling a collection of cushions and exploring designs online. Next, we practised a range of essential skills, including running stitch, backstitch, and overstitch. Some of us felt so confident with our embroidery that we even attempted the more complex chain stitch. We also learned how to use a sewing machine – an essential tool for assembling our cushions. Once we felt confident and had a clear design, we began making our final products. We are all immensely proud of the cushions we created!
