Year 4 have been bringing together their learning about states of matter in science and exploring how these link to the water cycle. Through hands-on investigations and creative diagrams, the children have deepened their understanding of how water changes state as it moves through the processes of evaporation, condensation, precipitation, and collection. They were amazed to learn that all the water on Earth today is the same water that has existed for billions of years – and that scientists believe it was first brought to our planet by asteroids from space!
