During year five, children use and apply and range of geographical skills when carrying out investigations. They give increased detail of views and justifications when suggesting solutions to the problems they investigate. They are now more confident with understanding how social, economic, and environmental factors are linked and can impact one and other. They take greater ownership over their enquiries and make choices about how to present them. They conduct secondary based research mostly independently. The examples attached are from lockdown remote learning where children explored the impact that UK trade has on the people living in El Salvador.
