Early Years

EARLY YEARS FOUNDATION STAGE (EYFS)

The EYFS curriculum is presented in a stable, rich and caring environment which enables every child to realise their full potential at their own pace.

EYFS CURRICULUM

In the EYFS we explore seven areas of learning and development. These are:

PRIME AREAS

The three prime areas should be developed first and are most essential for your child’s future learning and development in the other specific areas.

Communication & Language
Physical Development
Social & Emotional Development

SPECIFIC AREAS

Literacy
Mathematics
Understanding the World
Arts & Design

EYFS DEVELOPMENT

The three prime areas should be developed first and are most essential for your child’s future learning and development in the other specific areas.

Your child is at the centre of everything we do and the curriculum is taught in ways that builds on each child’s unique curiosity and interests through engaging, planned and purposeful activities.   The children learn by exploring, being creative and playing in our indoor and outdoor classroom.

Although we do follow the key liturgical events throughout the year, we do not have set topics, as we like to plan these with the children in line with their own interests to ensure the learning is relevant and builds on their own experiences. Recent topics include the farm, growing and mini-beasts.

We spend lots of time getting to know your children, finding out what they know and what they enjoy doing to ensure they have a stimulating, exciting environment with plenty of learning opportunities that will challenge and extend their learning.

PHONICS
