This Thursday is National Poetry Day and the theme this year is Refuge. Today, we talked about migration and some of the reasons why people might migrate. We choose the poem ‘On The Move Again’ by Michael Rosen to perform as a class. It is taken from his book of poems about migration called “On The Move’. We also listened to Michael Rosen perform the poem as well as some of the others from his book. It was also interesting to hear him talk about the inspiration behind some of his work. Tomorrow we will compare and contrast some other poems from the book before exploring the theme further later in the week.
