This week, our learning in English has been focussed around Michael Rosen’s poetry collection called ‘On the Move’. We have been inspired by reading many of the poems which are on the theme of Migration. We also watched a video in which the poet talks about the inspiration for some of the poems – he also suggested many useful ideas to get us started on writing poems of our own. We have made a class book of all of our work. Here are a few examples:
We also read the poem ‘Refugees’ by Brian Bilson which was unlike any other we had seen before. At first, we felt sad and angry. But, when we heard it for a second time, there was a surprise. It left us feeling very differently. Have a listen to our recital to find out why:
