Ice, ice, ice!

We have had an amazing time this week exploring the ice created by this very cold weather! We spent time hunting around our garden for ice that had been formed over night. Mrs Lale also trapped objects over night which we had to find ways of freeing. It helped us to use our problem solving skills and develop our fine motor skills.

During Forest School we decided to make our own Ice decorations. We chose some natural objects and put them in some of our recycling trays. We filled them up with water, added some string to hang them and left them to freeze over night. The next day we went to check them and took them onto the playground to hang them in the small tree near the entrance. The biggest ones we hung outside our classroom window so we could watch them when they start to melt.
