We have been reading one of our favourite books ‘The Gruffalo’ by Julia Donaldson. We have created 3D and written story maps to help us to retell the story. We also created actions that helped us to retell the whole story. We also made story sticks to help us to remember the order in which the characters appear in the story.
As part of our learning we created our own woodland creatures that the mouse might come across in the deep dark woods. We used the ipads to make digital images.
In Forest School we decided to make each of the characters their own home in the Shackadell garden. The children spilt into small groups and worked well together to build their houses by creating simple structures. We then ‘ took a stroll through the deep dark wood’ and had a look at each other’s houses and retold the story.
