When we went into the Forest School area last week we noticed that something had been digging up the ground. We decided to investigate and try and find out what it was. Mrs Skull has a special camera that will come on if something walks past it. We set it up on the path. We also made two footprint traps one with sand in and one with soil in.
The next day we checked the footprint traps in the Forest School. Sadly we did not spot any footprints but we will leave them there to see if any thing treads in them over time. When Mrs Skull checked her special camera we were amazed to see we had captured some videos of animals in the Forest School area. First of all we saw a black cat during the day time. We also saw the cat at night. We saw it’s eyes glowing. Then we saw an amazing video of a lovely fox 🦊 looking around. We were very excited! Maybe it is the fox that is digging up the Forest School area? We will keep looking to see if he/she comes back.
After leaving the camera out for another night, we were VERY excited to find some footage of a muntjac deer and a badger! Now we have three potential culprits who are digging in the forest school. It has been wonderful to spy on our nocturnal animals.
