This term, Year Four are learning all about Living Things and Their Habitats. As part of this unit, we have learned that scientists classify animals and plants into different groups, depending on their characteristics. In order to do so, they need to observe the living things very closely. We have studied the work of Levon Biss, a photographer who photographs different insects in great detail. When something very small is shown in a very large image you can see so much of the tiny details and features that you wouldn’t usually get to see. In Science, we observed images of different invertebrates and enlarged them as a group, with each person drawing a different section of the insect. They are very impressive when you put all of the pieces together!
